The new smart electric drive.
Electrifying the city’s future.

Exploring e-mobility has never been this variable: smart is the first automotive brand to electrify its entire conventionally driven fleet, offering the new smart electric drive as smart fortwo, smart fortwo cabrio, and – for the first time – as a four-seat smart forfour.

It’s an unbeatable choice for urbanites who enjoy the clever combination of a nimble city cruiser and its locally emission-free, fully electric drive. With this move, smart comes full circle – the compact city car was originally designed to have an electric engine.

Once again ahead of its time, smart now shines with the fourth generation of its electric drive models, sporting a city-optimized reach of up to 160 kilometers. All versions on offer come with a serial on-board charger that cuts charging speeds nearly in half.

Looking to upgrade your ride? The smart electric drive will be available as smart fortwo and smart forfour starting March 2017, and as smart fortwo cabrio in early summer of 2017. Learn more about the smart electric drive here.
